Why Retreat?

hawaii.jpg

Last October I had the honor of celebrating my friend Kelly for her birthday on the Big Island of Hawaii.

I had never been there before and felt a little timid showing up to spend a week with a group of women I had never met, but from the moment I arrived I felt so held and welcomed. Over the week I formed a connection with each person, and also grew beyond my edges through experiencing the wild nature of the island.

A few weeks after coming home, Kelly and I reconnected in the city, and reminisced about the magic of the island and the incredible healing that is able to take place within a safe container of sisterhood. We knew we wanted to share this experience with more women...

You're invited to the Wild Heart Retreat.

Join us April 17-22nd on the Big island of Hawaii to immerse yourself in a week of adventure, self-love and sisterhood.

There will be yoga, snorkeling, sound healing, cacao ceremony, hikes and time with the dolphins....

The lava of the island, Fire, invites us to clear and release all that is no longer serving, the Air is moist and often filled with rainbows, reminding us of innocence and pure magic, the Water is filled with the spontaneity of the dolphins, an invitation to deeper presence and play, and the Earth is rich with fertility, helping us remember our connection to the Great Mother and the Divine Feminine.

On the Big island, you become one with the elements ~ the ocean, the sunsets, the lava rock, the rainbows, the wildlife... it is all here for you to awaken the senses and lift the spirit.

We invite you to join us, opening new pathways of love within and for yourself, adventure, sisterhood and remembering your most unique and radiant essence...

Applications are rolling in, and we only have space for 8-10 sisters.

Why Retreat?

I've been reflecting on what retreats have brought to my life and wanted to offer a few reasons of why I feel it's so important to continue offering these kinds of experiences.

If it's been awhile (or maybe you've never gifted yourself to a retreat), here are my top 10 reasons why I invite you to consider saying yes to a retreat like this, this year!

1. Retreats provide empty space. In a world that is increasingly becoming full with information overload, quiet, empty space is becoming more and more valuable. it is a radical act to put the rest of the world on pause to turn inwards. To let go of the phone or the emails for a week to reconnect with your true source.

2. Be creatively inspired. When we stop INPUTTING so much information (social media, news, cell phones, the internet) we begin to connect back to our innate wellspring of creativity. If you've been feeling stuck creatively or otherwise, retreats provide an opportunity to reconnect with an innate creative flow.

3. Connections with depth. Retreats have connected me to unexpected collaborations, work opportunities, and meeting the exact people I needed to meet to grow into a new level of expansion and growth. However, something is different about the bonds formed at a retreat. The intentional space allows for people to go deeper than the normal day-to-day surface level of connections. Even as an introvert, I never felt overwhelmed at a retreat, because the depth of connection was so true, honest and intimate. Connection is something we all long for, and an intentional space like this provides the perfect environment to form deep bonds.

4. New experiences. When I think back on my past year, swimming with dolphins is one of the top experiences I think back fondly of. Like, one of those moments you remember at the end of your life. The kind of experiences we will be creating together

5. Healing. Being held in sisterhood with likeminded women is one of the most healing places to be. I unexpectedly healed all kinds of old stories and wounds I didn't even know I was still holding on to at the last retreat I attended. There's something so powerful about a safe container, where everyone is looking after you and supporting you to heal.

6. The food. This year we are bringing on a private chef to create delicious organic meals throughout the retreat. Eating Jasmine's food is seriously incredible. Her recipes are so creative (most are vegan, although fish will be an optional add on for anyone attending), and think about what it would be like to have a WHOLE week with NO DISHES and no cooking :)

7. Deep rest. Imagine falling asleep with the sound of the ocean. The warm air, a cool breeze. Time to wake up and journal in the morning...

8. Immersion in nature on new lands. One of the focuses of this retreat is to connect with nature. The elements. Back to our source. To tune into the whispers of the land and receive deeper insight and wisdom from the water, the earth and the culture of Hawaii.

9. How you go back to your life can be completely different. This is an opportunity to reset new patterns. Set new intentions. Let yourself return completely renewed.

10. Uplevel your mindset. Giving yourself permission to gift yourself this kind of experience shifts old stories of "I can't" or "I don't have enough (time, money, resources, etc" into... "I have enough. I AM enough. I am worthy of this..." An act of generosity for yourself, or someone you love like this sets a new course in your relationship to yourself, your self-worth and how you wish to love and care for yourself this year.

You're Invited to a Nourishing Spring Retreat

leaves-yoga-meditation-spring-retreat

When I feel agitated, frustrated, have pain in my body, or am experiencing difficult emotions, I show up to my yoga mat.

That is when I receive all my best insights.

That is where I am able to tap back into what's really important, make decisions about my business, and receive guidance when I feel at a loss at what to do.

I believe our body is full with wisdom.

We all have a 'highest self' inside who knows the answers.  However,  we can only access this wisdom when our mind is quiet enough to tune into intuition.

It's so important to listen to what our body is telling us, but often we get distracted.  To-do lists, obligations, work, kids, and a busy mind can crowd out the wise-self we all have inside.

That's why Karen Prosen and I decided to devote a whole day to help those ready to tap back into this wisdom.

We want you to reconnect to that wise, centered part of yourself.  The part of yourself that already knows all the answers.

We also want to honor and welcome the new season of spring.  This is a time to start fresh and release old patterns that are no longer serving us. This is a time to step into a new way of being and living in the world.

We have rented a gorgeous yurt in Occidental, CA for a one-day retreat in honor of our body's wisdom and the new season on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10 am - 5 pm.

We are creating an intentional space for an intimate group.  I'll be teaching gentle yoga, breathing and voice exercises.

Karen will lead us through meditation and yoga nidra to recede into rest and we will end the day in celebration with kirtan chanting.

For lunch, we have invited Camina Gillotti to prepare an ayurvedic lunch with locally harvested foods.

If you are in need of nourishment, of rest, of community and reconnection to your body's wisdom, I invite you to join us.

The investment is $108 when reserved by March 18, or $188 when you reserve for two.

You can read more about the day and reserve your space here.

And if you're unavailable, or don't live locally, please take a moment to ask yourself, "Do I know anyone in the Bay Area in need of this kind of nourishment?"  I invite you to forward this message to him or her.

In love and service, Meredith (and Karen) <3
