Three Tips to Break Through Anxiety and Worry

I was working with a client today who was experiencing fear, anxiety and worry, an experience we are all probably familiar with.

These are ancient energies that can rise like waves in the body and mind, especially when we feel alone, uncertain, or overwhelmed. But that’s why we have tools to remember how to return to our center.

I led her through an EFT Tapping session around the challenge, and after addressing and allowing the experience of the emotions, we began to reframe her experience, and three simple solutions arose.

These three simple yet powerful practices can help you break through the grip of fear and worry and reconnect with your grounded, present self.

1. Return to the Present Moment

Worry is rarely about what’s happening right now.
It’s often a projection into an unknown future, something that might happen. The mind spins scenarios, looking for safety or control. But the future is unwritten, and our power lies in the present moment..

Remind yourself:
“Right now, I am safe. Right now, I have a roof over my head. I have what I need. I am not in danger in this moment.”

When you remember to come home to the now, you disarm the fearful mind and anchor yourself in what is real.

2. Remember the Body

One of the most common signs of anxiety is disconnection from the body. Fear pulls us into our heads, into spirals of thought, and we leave our somatic temple behind.

But our body is the way we can remember the present moment. The breath and bodily sensations lead us back into the present moment.

Ask yourself: “Where are my feet right now?”
Feel the soles of your feet pressing into the Earth.
Notice the rise and fall of your breath.
Place a hand on your heart or your belly.

When you reconnect with sensation, you invite your nervous system to soften. You shift from hypervigilance into presence. You come back in—no longer hovering outside of yourself, but rooted, whole, embodied.

This is how the priestess walks through fear: by breathing and being with it.

3. Break the Spell of Isolation

Worry and anxiety grow stronger in silence. The more we keep them locked inside, the stronger they become. But the moment we speak them aloud, the spell begins to break.

Call a friend. Text a sister. Share the exact thought you’ve been spinning in your mind.

“I just need to say this out loud: I’ve been caught in this fear and I don’t want to carry it alone.”

You’ll be amazed at how quickly the charge softens when you bring your inner world into the light of connection.

We are not meant to walk through fear alone. We are wired for co-regulation. You don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out. Simply naming what’s present is a sacred act.

Let sisterhood be your medicine.

You are not your fear. You are not your anxious thoughts. You are not your worry.

You are a living temple.
A priestess of presence.
A sacred body held by the Earth.

And even in moments of fear, you can choose to return to your breath, to your body, to your people. These simple choices are powerful acts of self-love and sovereignty.
