Seven Rituals to Embrace Your Feminine Energy on the New Moon

The new moon invites a sacred pause—a quiet return to the dark womb of possibility. This is the time when we are closest to our own mystery, our inner voice, and the wellspring of feminine energy that moves like water beneath the surface of our busy lives. These seven rituals are woven to guide you into deeper softness, intuitive clarity, and radiant receptivity as you begin a new lunar cycle.

1. Make Your Own Rose Water: Rebirth Through Beauty

Roses carry the frequency of unconditional love. On the day of the new moon, place fresh rose petals into a bowl of spring or filtered water. Let them steep overnight (or infuse gently with warm water). As you prepare this water, whisper your intentions into it—allowing your heart to soften, your body to listen. Use it later to mist your face, bless your altar, or anoint your womb.

“I invite beauty to guide my becoming.”

2. Wash Your Crystals in Salt Water: Cleanse and Return

The new moon is a portal for purification. Gather your stones and submerge them in a bowl of salt water—ocean water if available, or spring or filtered water with sea salt added. Let them soak overnight or during your ritual time. As the water draws out stagnant energy, imagine your own emotional body being rinsed and renewed. Afterward, rinse the crystals in clean water and place them under the moon to charge.

“I release the residue of the past. I return to my feminine essence.”

3. Journal to Set Intentions: Anchor the Invisible

Create a sacred container for your thoughts. Light a candle. Ask yourself:

  • What am I ready to call in this moon cycle?

  • What part of me is ready to awaken?

  • What must I release to grow?

Let the answers rise without judgment. Your journal is not a place for perfection—let your stream of consciousness flow on the page.

4. Gather a Women’s Circle: Speak and Be Seen

Whether in person or virtually, call your sisters into circle. Create a ritual space with candles, sacred objects, and a talking piece. Each woman may share what she’s releasing, and what she’s ready to birth in this cycle. Speak aloud, be witnessed, and listen deeply. Feminine energy thrives in community—it is mirrored, amplified, and healed in sisterhood.

“We remember who we are, together.”

5. Invoke Angelic Guidance: Pray from the Womb

The veil is thin on the new moon. Sit in quiet. Place your hands on your heart or womb. Speak aloud a prayer to the angelic realm, or to an ascended master you trust—such as Quan Yin, Archangel Michael, or the one I hold close, Mary Magdalene. Ask for guidance. Ask to be shown what you cannot yet see.

“Beloved guides, I open to your gentle wisdom. Walk with me.”

6. Channel with Your Guides: Magdalene Writing Practice

Take your journal. Write a letter from your heart to the one who holds your soul in devotion. For me, this is often Mary Magdalene. I begin with, “Dear Mary…” and pour out my fears, questions, longings. Then, I turn the page… and let her respond to me. The words always come. As if she is really speaking back.

“Dear Meredith…”—and let the wisdom flow.

It may feel silly at first, but whenever I go back to read those channeled writings, they always hold so much truth.

7. Anoint with Rose Oil: Seal Your Ritual in the Body

To complete, take a drop of rose essential oil and anoint your third eye, your heart, your womb. Move slowly. Breathe. Rose oil carries the medicine of the divine feminine—soft power, sensuality, healing. Let this ritual be your blessing… your prayer without words.

“With this oil, I return to myself.”

Closing the Circle

Enjoy these invitations to return to your cyclical, sensual, sacred nature. Let this new moon be a womb of rebirth. Let her dark silence awaken your knowing. You are the priestess. You are the temple.
